Silver Eagle Coin collecting enthusiasts have been awaiting the release date for the 25th anniversary American Silver Eagle set of five coins. The wait is finally over, as the United States Mint has scheduled the release of these beautiful coins for sale on Thursday, October 27, 2011. No pricing has been set yet for this coin set.
The five Silver Eagle Coins in the set include:
- 1 - 2011 Silver Eagle Bullion Coin
- 1 - 2011-W Silver Eagle Proof Coin
- 1 - 2011-W Silver Eagle Uncirculated Coin
- 1 - 2011-P Silver Eagle Reverse Proof Coin
- 1 - 2011-S Silver Eagle Uncirculated Coin
The US Mint has previously released three of the coins in the set: the Silver Eagle bullion coin at the beginning of 2011, the Uncirculated Silver Eagle coin minted at West Point, and the proof coin, which was also struck at the West Point Mint.
The two newest coins, which will be unique to this set, (as long as they aren't sold separately by the mint, or in any other type of set) will be the 2011-P Reverse Proof Silver Eagle, and the 2011-S Uncirculated Silver Eagle.
In 2006, the United States Mint celebrated the Silver Eagle coins mintage with a 20th anniversary set. That set included three coins:
- 1 - 2006-W Proof Silver Eagle Coin
- 1 - 2006-W Uncirculated Silver Eagle Coin
- 1 - 2006-P Reverse Proof Silver Eagle Coin
The 2006 anniversary set was limited to a mintage of 250,000 coins. This 2011 Silver Eagle anniversary coin set will have a limited mintage of 100,000 units. Five sets per household will be allowed for purchase.
This Silver Eagle Coin set will definitely be popular, and should sell out.
